Chiropractic has changed my life for the better.

I grew up in a small town in Iowa. I was very active in athletics ranging from basketball, golf, volleyball, track and field, softball, and cross-country. It wasn’t unusual to come home with bumps and bruises from my daily workouts. My family knew that chiropractic care could help relieve my pain from the injuries I received playing these sports. My first adjustment was at age fourteen. I remember how fun it was going in to see my chiropractor and how great I felt afterwards. Not only did my chiropractor help relieve my aches and pains, but he inspired me to pursue a career in chiropractic!

I enrolled at Central College in Pella, Iowa and made the varsity women’s golf team. Two years later I decided to become a Hawkeye and attended the University of Iowa. I graduated there with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. My next step was at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While attending school there I traveled to Brazil on a clinic abroad trip. I got to adjust many Brazilian men, women, and children who were in great need for chiropractic care. I saw some amazing results and amazing sites. During my time at Palmer College I met my husband, Dr. Shawn Lovdahl. We fell in love and after graduation moved to Missoula, Montana. While living in Montana we brought our daughter Cora into the world. We’ve been checking her spine since the day she was born and she has been happy and healthy.

Shawn and I decided to move up to Anchorage to raise our family. The Anchorage community has so much to offer. We enjoy the outdoors, hiking, cross-country skiing, and golfing together as a family. In my free time I also enjoy yoga and reading. I look forward to learning more about Alaska and the many things it has to offer that I did not get to do growing up in Iowa.

Chiropractic has not only relieved my aches and pains, but it gave me a career in which I can help change people’s lives for the better! I have treated patients of all ages, both genders, and many conditions. I’ve helped people from ages 1 day old to 85 years. I am particularly interested in caring for pregnant women and children. After having my own baby, I realize the dramatic changes to the woman’s body during pregnancy and post-partum. Chiropractic care during these times of my life allowed me to focus on being a healthy, happy mom and not having to “deal” with unnecessary health issues. It is my now my passion to empower women to move well and live well. Not only for themselves, but for their children too. When treating the neck, I use the Blair Chiropractic Technique. I’ve received advanced chiropractic training with this particular technique. This technique uses specific x-rays to analyze the misalignment of the first vertebra, the spinal bone closest to the brain stem. The unique style of adjustment with this technique does not cause the “popping” noise in the neck like other styles of adjusting do. You can find more information at www.blairchiropractic.com. I use Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) to treat muscles. To learn more about this highly effective therapy for the muscles go to www.activerelease.com. Each patient is treated different according to their specific needs.

As you can see, I have been involved in some way with chiropractic most of my life. I hope to inspire others through chiropractic just as my chiropractor did many years ago.
